About us

Welcome to Our Community - Cache Valley! We are a non-partisan and grass-roots group; our purpose is to bring people together into a broad neighborly network to share concerns, ideas, skills, and resources to support our Cache Valley community and work toward a better future. We operate as a "network of networks" and include smaller “action groups” that work together on specific issues of concern to them. Working together in smallish groups with shared responsibilities, we can get a lot done and enjoy the work and the good company.

Our Community - Cache Valley came into being on April 2 with a meeting of 100+ members of our community. We got to know each other, organized some action groups, and started working together. We hold roughly monthly meetings of the entire group and currently have about 400 members. Action Groups work together independently and will share updates on their activities with the larger group at our monthly meetings and on this website.

Our meetings have been energizing, calming, informative, and fun – it’s uplifting to have so many interested and enthusiastic people discussing and working together and for the benefit of all of us. We invite you to join us.

Guiding principles

  1. We are in this together: Every person here matters. Our stories, struggles, and future are connected, even if we see the world differently. We show up with respect, knowing we’re all part of something bigger.
  2. Relationships Come First: How we treat each other is just as important as what we’re trying to get done. We listen well, speak with care, and slow down when needed.
  3. We Learn Together: Nobody here has all the answers. We’re each learning as we go—about the issues, about each other, and about ourselves. Mistakes are part of that process.
  4. Tension is not the Enemy: Hard conversations will happen. When they do, we don’t rush to fix or win—we seek to understand. Sometimes disagreement is what helps us grow.
  5. We Think About the Bigger Picture: We aim to make decisions that consider not just what’s easiest now, but what’s best for our kids, our communities, and the world we share.
  6. We Share the Load: This work takes all of us. Everyone has something to offer, and no one should carry too much alone. We ask for help when we need it; we pitch in when we can.
