Bulletin: Logan Ranger District Operating at 50%

Eighty USDA Forest Service jobs have been eliminated in Utah, including 12 in the Logan Ranger District, which is now operating with 50% of needed employees. Cuts have resulted in the loss of the only 2 employees trained to deal with large animal issues. There is also a shortage of employees to monitor and clean picnic areas and campsites in Logan Canyon. Concerned citizens should call their congressional representatives and ask for restoration of funding for Cache National Forest employees and also consider calling Kristen Johansson at 435-755-3620 to volunteer to help keep Logan Canyon safe and clean.
