Our Community Is Mobilizing

  • The Migrant Support action group is hosting a summit on Thursday, June 12. See the flyer below.
  • The action group on Countering Mis/Disinformation is assembling resources to help identify and respond to mis/disinformation, from the local scale on up. Here's an example of how information is being used as a weapon right now, to sow confusion and villify protesters in LA. Thanks Brynja for the article.
  • The Communications and Alert Network (CAN) action group is mapping local support/response organizations and working on building an alert network that all of us can join. Here's a general resource list for Cache County. It's also linked from the Resources page at the top.
  • At last Wednesday's Our Community meeting, many people voiced that they feel unheard and passed over in recent decisions by Logan City Council. We discussed ways to have a stronger presence in the city's decision making process, and some have expressed interest in regularly attending Council meetings. The Civic Voice action group would like to organize a rotating group of community members who can sit in on Council meetings and report back to Our Community. If you're interested, Contact Us!
  • Speaking of City Council, two recent articles by Patrick (part 1, part 2) explain the backstory and repercussions of the decision that locked Logan into a $400M, long-term energy contract.
